Option 1: The Prophets: Messengers of God's Mercy

If God’s people had stayed close to him, there might have been no need for the prophets. God sent prophets at critical times to call the people back to their covenant relationship. Prophets proclaimed the consequences of continued sin, called people to repentance, and declared God’s faithful love. They also spoke of the future to shed light on current events and to reveal God’s plans and purposes.

It is nearly impossible to understand the work and the message of Jesus without the prophetic books. In The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy, presenter Thomas Smith examines who the prophets were, their role during their time, and the meaning of their messages for our own time. Discover how God is constantly calling you to a deeper relationship as well as the ways you are called to be the voice of God to others.

The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy will be led by Deacon Ben Seitz and Johanna Martin.

The Prophets: Messengers of God’s Mercy will be a 10 session course, meeting on the Sundays (see specific dates below) at 3:30pm in the St. Maria Goretti Room.

Option 2: Follow Me — Jesus in the Gospel of St. John

Following Christ takes more than simply believing in him or doing what he asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than just a believer—he wants you to be his disciple and friend. Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John is your guide to a personal encounter with Christ. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus seeks us. He comes to meet us and beckons us to follow him. He calls us to be his disciples, to trust him, to open ourselves to his merciful love, and to love others as he has loved us. Follow Me invites you to experience the joy of a renewed friendship with Christ. In this study you will learn what it takes to follow Christ and discover the joy of divine friendship. You will see how God, and only God, can satisfy the deepest desires of your heart.

Follow Me – Jesus in the Gospel of St. John will be led by Paul and Anne O’Donnell.

Option 3: Romans: The Gospel of Salvation

Paul’s letter to the Romans has been at the center of reflection, conversion, and controversy from the time it was written. Presented by Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, Romans: The Gospel of Salvation provides an authentically Catholic, comprehensive, and simple way to understand the overarching theme of Romans—salvation. This fascinating book reveals that salvation is not merely the removal of a guilty verdict; it is about entering into Christ’s life, death, and resurrection and sharing in his divine life.

In Jesus Christ, all the hopes and expectations of Israel are fulfilled, leading to the universal (“catholic”) family of God. Romans: The Gospel of Salvation will help you to make sense of the difficult passages regarding faith, works of the law, and justification. Above all, it will help you to enter into a more meaningful relationship with Christ.

Romans: The Gospel of Salvation will be led by Susan and Ted LeMier

Option 4: Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother

Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother is an extraordinary pilgrimage that reveals Mary’s unique role in God’s kingdom and in our lives. Filmed on location in the Holy Land, Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother will place you in the midst of the powerful drama of her earthly life, taking you through her joys … and her sorrows. You will learn how she works in our lives today, drawing us ever closer to her divine Son. Seeing Mary in this way will change you forever. Mary will become a part of your daily life, and in your daily life, you will become more like Christ.

Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother will be led by Connie Dulany

Option 5: Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come

Perhaps no book of the Bible fascinates people more than Revelation. Yet relatively few people have studied it, especially from a Catholic perspective.

Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come

is an intriguing eleven-session study program that shows how the kingdom established by Christ in his Church is intimately connected with the kingdom of heaven. In this study, presenter Jeff Cavins pulls back the veil on the rich symbolism present in Revelation. Discover what the mysterious figures and images of Revelation mean and see how Revelation is more than an apocalyptic vision of the “end times.” Explore the Church’s teaching on the second coming of Christ and the Last Judgment. Understand how God, the Divine Bridegroom, and the Church, his spotless bride, enter into a heavenly, holy, and mystical marriage every time we celebrate Mass.

Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come will be led by Brian Hagelstrom.
