The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

If you are planning to be married at Sts. Anne & Joachim, please  contact Sue in our office, (701) 612-2478 at least seven months prior to the wedding date.

Marriage preparation will consist of the following:

  • Meet with a priest who will help you focus on the Sacrament and the grace you will receive by discussing the Church’s theology of marriage.
  • Complete the “Fully Engaged” Wedding Inventory.
  • Being paired with a sponsoring couple.
  • Attend a Weekend Marriage Seminar and NFP classes.

Our Wedding Coordinator (Sue) and Director of Music (Patrick) will help you plan your wedding celebration so that the elements of the ceremony, including musical selections, accompanists, and vocalists, are appropriate for a Catholic wedding and comply with the guidelines for weddings celebrated at Sts. Anne and Joachim.
