My job is not just a job—it’s a ministry… I work for the Church.

I’ve been asked to share my experience of working for the Church. As I reflected on what to write, Paul Harvey’s classic storytelling style came to mind.  I know a Paul Harvey reference dates me a little, but I’ve been around for a while so here it goes:

I start each morning in prayer with my team… I work for the Church.
I can attend daily Mass or pray a Holy Hour with my team… I work for the Church.
I work with a team who share my Catholic values… I work for the Church.
I work with a team who strives to know, love and serve the parish…I work for the Church.
I share ups, downs, and life moments with my team… I work for the Church.
I can visit with our parish priests every day… I work for the Church.
I am the face of Christ to everyone who walks through the door… I work for the Church.
I walk with people through their happiest and their most difficult moments… I work for the Church.
I journey with others on their path to holiness… I work for the Church.

I’ve had the privilege of working for the Church for over twenty years.  Thirteen of those years have been here at Sts. Anne & Joachim. For me, this has never been “just a job.” It is truly a ministry. Like any vocation, there are highs and lows, but the blessings far outweigh the challenges. If I were to list them all, it would take a book!

Every day when I arrive at work, I am grateful that I can say: I work for the Church.

Are you looking for more than just a job? Consider joining us. Check out the current job openings at Sts. Anne & Joachim—and you too can say: I work for the Church.
