Our hearts tell us….

that a good home is of great importance to the happiness of those we love and to our own personal happiness, and yet so many of us are frustrated, anxious, and lacking in confidence when it comes to making such a home. Profound and rapid changes over the past century leave us at the mercy of a consumer culture which values efficiency and comfort above the true human good. We don’t have a reliable path to follow.

We can figure this out! Join me in exploring what a home is, what it does, what it is for. Consider with me which designs, contents, routines, and practices will help you, with your unique family and circumstances, to make a home in which your family can flourish and you can be at peace.

This topic is for you, whether you are preparing for marriage or already deeply immersed in caring for a family, whether you live alone or are now making a home in an “empty nest.” Anyone involved in the work of making a home, regardless of age and ability, family circumstances, homemaking styles, and professional commitments outside of the home, will find The Thoughtful Home useful and illuminating.
